Concert by the Duke Chorale

The Duke Chorale will perform a concert at St. David’s Church. The Duke Chorale, directed by Rodney Wynkoop, is a primarily undergraduate concert choir at Duke University, performing an extensive repertoire of chorale pieces, ranging from Renaissance German and French works to Latin Requiems and Negro spirituals.

Katharine Jefferts Schori, the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church has issued the following statement concerning the January 12 earthquake in Haiti: "The people of Haiti have suffered a devastating earthquake, and it is already clear that many have died and many more are injured. Even under “normal” circumstances, Haiti struggles to care for her 9 million people."

Alexander McCurdy III ‘57 presents an organ recital honoring his father, Alexander McCurdy II (1905-1983), on Saturday, January 23rd at 3:00 p.m. in the Class of 1944 Chapel on Episcopal Academy’s Newtown Square campus, 1785 Bishop White Drive. Organists Gordon Turk and Michael Stairs will be performing at this event. Both Dr. Turk and Mr. Stairs were students of Mr. McCurdy.

2010 Committee Appointments

All Diocesan Committees subject to appointment by the Office of the Bishop have a life span from one Diocesan Convention to the next. Appointments to committees newly formed, or to those which will be continued into the next year, will be made after the beginning of the New Year. Committees and committee members are not automatically continued but require the approval of the Assisting Bishop.

Surrounded By Angels In Haiti

A retrospective of a year of mission

I have just completed a year of service as a Missioner for the Episcopal Church in Haiti. It has been a journey of infinite blessings, beginning with the financial and spiritual support of my home parish, Trinity Solebury, Bishop Bartlett and Bishop Michel and Standing Committee and countless parishes within the Diocese of Pennsylvania. I have also received significant assistance from Province II & III and churches within their jurisdictions. As one is called to leave friends and family to immerse themselves in a different culture and a way of life, such partnership in ministry should never be underestimated.
