Festival to Welcome Bishop Michel

2009 Philadelphia Cathedral Festival

Sunday | May 31 | 12pm

Highlights of the this year’s Festival include an Art Exhibition and Concert followed by a welcoming ceremony and reception for The Rt. Rev. Rodney R. Michel, Assisting Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania. Civic leaders and representatives from various faith traditions will also be participating in the ceremony.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2009, 11am, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Lancaster.

Update on Bishop Bennison’s Court Case

The Right Reverend Charles E. Bennison, Jr., has filed a Motion For Extraordinary Relief Seeking The Dismissal Of The Presentment Or, In The Alternative, A New Trial with the Court for the Trial of a Bishop. The Court has entered a scheduling order under which the motion will be ready for adjudication by the Court at the end of June. The matter will then be submitted for the Court’s consideration.

The Rev. Paul E. Mottl to serve as Canon for Episcopal Administration and Communication

The Rt. Rev. Rodney R. Michel, Assisting Bishop of the Diocese of Pennsylvania, is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Paul E. Mottl to serve as his Canon for Episcopal Administration and Communication. Canon Mottl is expected to begin these responsibilities on May 15, 2009.
